ok it's not like the sun is beating down on the back on my neck as i plant my second favourite flower in the world- the gorgeously girly 'peony'.......but it is out...& it is sun!!!! ........& it is a pink peony.......

in australia i spent many hours in our garden mainly growing succulents around the beautiful sandstones rocks our land lay upon.......& cultivating cuttings of most most 'favourite & my best' flower in the world- the humble & simple frangipanni.......

frangi's need heat...heat & more heat....& they like to be seriously admired & loved from afar......not watered & 'modcoddled' {i'm sure that's a word!}........so the fact that i can plant a peony & know it is not going to require endless cans of water from me to flower & last is to be honest, totally exciting!

ok...i feel like i have had my first little window into spring- although it is still early feb, & it feels loooovely!
a british spring- if it's a good one is divine......flowers, birds, my little daughters favourite- "bugs & bees & butterflies" all come out in abundance...& the season is then a new one........

this is something we don't have coming from Sydney & we have all grown to love it...in saying that the sun is now behind a big wandering cloud & it feels like winter again........well i can only hope....
