so the holidays are rolling on- halfterm....noise...laughter....chaos....food....drawing...sewing...football....bikes...cooking....& pancakes....
today is shrove tuesday & much to the dismay of my gorgeous son sol- who had absolutely assured us all it was pancake day on thursday- we did not make pancakes this morning!
now... this is not a disaster, as he has mountains of pancakes almost every sunday...

we have used the same  pancake recipe forever....well since ella was in nursery...
she brought this home in a beautiful hand made recipe book for me one mothers day.......it is on "our favourite & our best" list...& it will become another 'family forever favourite' i promise you.........
the best bit being it is made out of pantry stock.....nothing extra...nothing flash....nothing modern...just good old fashioned pancakes....almost giant flapjacks but definately not crepes....

you need:
1 cup of wholemeal self raising flour
1 cup of milk- whatever your family fancies
1 egg
2 T brown sugar

mix & let sit for an hour
cook & share...well devour with maple syrup, lemon, icing sugar & if you're australian banana & honey

this is how we love them-simple & sweet......
