sometimes i surprise myself...

we saw our first squirrel of autumn today...& it made me smile...
a big-ol'-aussie-gal-living-in-the-english-countryside-who-still-gets-surprised-kinda smile...

when you've lived in a place for a few years- you think you know the *rhythms* of the day...
you think even though you grew up on a surfboard with sandy feet & salty hair...you can just *disappear* into life in a country whose *rhythms* couldn't be more different from your own....

well this was a classic moment of australian enthusiasm & an english garden...
we stared & loved...
smiled & named...
& then we decided not to tell any of our real english friends about our encounter lest they giggle at us...
& remind us that britian has approximately ten squillion squirrels- none of which are really worth naming...

anyhoo...
we like smiling & cooing over our special squirrel....

of course there are no cute & lovely photos to show as we were busy doing all of the errr...above...
you know the crazed enthusiasm & stuff....

so what i will show you is
my kitchen window's last *yehar* to my hometown sydney's dose of spring weather
before i go all autumnal with the house....
the days are getting darker & i'm trying my hardest not to put the heating on *all the time*...

i have had a lovely time *trawling* through all the gorgeous blogs that are creating autumn *moments* on their mantles...in their dinning rooms...their playrooms...in their halls....

but i have decided to have a little moment of australian-ocean-colours to see out this week until i embrace all things warm...& brown & autumny....

...a little moment of sydney & sandy floors...

...so if you are a british gal in sydney naming a kookaburra or a possum in your *backyard*...
or
...an aussie gal like me naming a squirrel amongst your roses in the english countryside...
...enjoy the change of seasons...
