i know...i couldn't help it...
she was just too gorgeous to leave in the shop...
look at her all snuggled under her tissue paper...
she really did call out to me...
i heard it...& i fell in love...
the best £2.50 i have spent all week...

yes...she's a little grubby...a little marked in places...
but i love her for all those markings...
how many tables has she graced in her lifetime?
how many conversations has she been *passed around* to...
i think she is lovely beyond compare...

another moment of english country life...
one i can clock up & recall when i eventually go home to oz...
she'll hold meals she's never heard of i'm sure...
mango salads...lamingtons...
{yes jane i'm still thinking of lamingtons- curse you lovely!!!}
but for now she's holding my *friday flowers*...

a friday flower...if you are new to my friday bloggy sharing...
is a series of photos & thoughts focusing on a bunch bought for no particular reason...
other than to enjoy the happiness that fresh flowers in the house brings...
to be honest...
it justify's spoiling oneself a little at the end of each week...
sometimes the flowers are passed onto someone special...like a virtual gift...
sometimes they are just because...
today they are for my witty wise & kindred american friend amy from *lucky number 13*...
because i think her, & i, need all the help we can get to reach spring!!

amy sweetie...
these are yellow...one of your fave colours...
{pssst...yep like the sun we both see- no warmth but bright...!}
&
they are thrown onto an old vintage platter as i look for a vase...
{you can relate to that as you build a fort...read a book for the kiddos...search the kitchen cupboards....!}
&
they make me smile...
{you get it...don't you....!}

so as i think about the weekend ahead...
& look at my roses...& giggle at amy's brilliantly funny whinging about the weather & life in general....
{yep you'll love her!}...
&
quietly cheer to myself about that gorgeous platter seeing me outa the corner of her eye...
& calling me over across the crowded oxfam village shop...
& popping herself into my basket...
i just want to say thanks for continuing to come past...
thanks for leaving comments...or not...
thanks for just taking a moment to catch up...

if you want to see some other *friday flowers*...
my gorgeous friend laura will share some with you over a good strong pot of tea...
&
i have also linked up today with joyce on her wonderfully inspirational blog
*i love pretty little things*
 grab a pot of tea & ooh & aahh over her
*sweet friday pretties*

have a wonderful weekend
see you monday for some craftiness
xox
