what to do after a trip to stock up the house for the week...
make a cup of tea & play with flowers & old bottles...
indulge in some *friday pretties*...

why does supermarket shopping so go against the grain of a lovely day...?
i mean...we're buying good produce to make good food for our families...
we're planning times together as we think through the weeks needs...
quite simply- i think, no matter how many good things a weekly shop can produce, it's still fundamentally goes against the grain of *good-old-fashioned-shopping*...
there's no interaction with the people who provide the produce...
there's too many lights & not enough windows...
& even if some days it doesn't over whelm me...i still say it does as i'm against buying everything under one roof in principle...!

living in a village, heading up our little high street means i must walk past the same shops each & everyday...
because of this, i want to use the local butcher...& the local baker...
i just couldn't pass them by & buy our meat & bread else where...
but...
i can throw some supermarket bunches of blooms in...
i have no qualms about windowless over-lighted places providing me with blooms like these delphiniums...AT ALL...
it makes going there a whole lot easier...
it's my little friday indulgence...

a cup of tea...& playing around with flowers & collected bottles...
& photographing the playing...
you've seen it a bit before here here...

blue is my absolute *fave & best* colour...
it's the oceans...the sky...the beach...
for me...it's all the things nature does best...
with a good dallop of white it reminds me of a summer's day in sydney...always...

stuck around the place in collected old bottles...
it reminds me of our travels abroad...
bottles & memories of england...france...rome & greece...
i do love me some old bottles...

indulging in flowers...
also gives me a chance to stop during the day & to indulge in my photography...
i'm loving this more & more...
we have a huge collection of wonderful photos of our life in england & our travels...
family photos of places & times that we don't want the children to forget...
but i've also discovered that my love of photography grows when i photograph nothing moments...
i share them here...but rarely would i frame one...or even come back to it the way i do over out travelling photos...
but i love the challenge...

friday pretties
over a cup of tea
...with a camera & a love of the small, nothing moments in my day...

happy friday
